The National Association of Counties' (NACo) policy steering committees cover a myriad of domestic policy issues impacting county governments and local communities. Committees meet at least twice a year to review and make recommendations on public policy issues and legislation. The policy development process initiated by the steering committees is the foundation for the American County Platform, which drives NACo's advocacy work.

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is looking for public input on the future of transportation in South Carolina through a multimodal transportation survey which will close on September 6. Momentum 2050 is the statewide plan for the future of South Carolina’s transportation network.

 More than 100 county officials recently graduated from the South Carolina Association of Counties’ (SCAC) Institute of Government for County Officials, Levels I and II. Graduates included elected officials and county employees and represented 42 of the state’s 46 counties.
