Spotlight: Stuart Morgan

SCAC is pleased to spotlight Stuart Morgan, the association’s Public Information Director. Stuart has been with the association 31 years and serves as editor and producer of the association’s County Focus Magazine and Carolina Counties Newsletter. He also serves as the association’s media contact. Stuart minored in journalism in college and wrote for several newspapers before working in the field of maritime history for several years. He always wanted to live in South Carolina and produce a magazine, and he is grateful SCAC has given him the opportunity to do both.

“South Carolina county success stories don’t always get the publicity they deserve, so I always enjoy writing about them,” Stuart said. “I also enjoy working with the association’s staff to publish articles of interest to county officials across the state, including news items to keep them informed.”

Stuart’s colleagues describe him as a very dedicated and knowledgeable team member who strives for the highest level of perfection in all his work. He has developed great relationships with many of SCAC’s corporate partners and advertisers.

Stuart’s favorite quote is “We often see only the ebb of the advancing wave and are thus discouraged. It is history that teaches us to hope.” His favorite verse is James 1:1-4. He and his wife enjoy their two dogs, spending time with their two sons whenever they can, and their boat, Sweet Caroline. Stuart also tries to fish occasionally, but admits he isn’t any good.
