Senate Bills - February 24, 2023

S. 549 (Sen. Grooms) — Amends Section 56-1-395, relating to the driver's license reinstatement fee payment program, to provide that drivers' licenses issued under this program are valid for an additional six months, to revise the amount of reinstatement fees owed by persons to become eligible to obtain these drivers' licenses, to revise the distribution of the administrative fees collected, to provide that the Department of Motor Vehicles may provide persons in the program a fee schedule of the amounts owed and the ability to make online payments, to revise the types of drivers' license suspensions that are covered by this section, and to revise the frequency that persons may participate in the program and the conditions for future participation.

S. 559 (Sens. Kimbrell, M. Johnson, Rice, Reichenbach, Climer, Adams, Talley and Corbin) — Adds Section 34-3-120 to provide that banks may not use social credit scores when making decisions concerning whether to provide services to a consumer or business entity.

S. 562 (Sen. Davis) — Amends Section 4-37-30, relating to sales and use taxes or tolls as revenue for transportation facilities, to expand the utilization of transportation sales tax programs.

S. 564 (Sens. Massey and Campsen) — Amends Section 7-7-330, relating to the designation of voting precincts in Jasper County, to add one precinct, and to redesignate the map number on which the names of these precincts may be found and maintained by the Revenue and Fiscal Affairs Office.

S. 566 (Sens. Bennett, K. Johnson, M. Johnson, Hutto, Adams, Kimpson, Fanning, Kimbrell, Climer, Cromer, McElveen, Talley and Davis) — Enacts the "South Carolina Craft Beer Economic Development Act."
