Update on SC Infrastructure Investment Program Awards
South Carolina Rural Infrastructure Authority Executive Director Bonnie Ammons recently shared that anticipated SC Infrastructure Investment Program (SCIIP) awards announcements will be delayed.
The South Carolina General Assembly is actively considering an additional allocation of $586 million for the SCIIP program from the remaining American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) balance.
“Because these funds would be applied to the applications already received as of January 1, 2023, it would be most appropriate to award all available funds at one time,” Ammons said in an email message updating stakeholders. “…While we are disappointed by the delay, please be assured that we are ready to move quickly once funding is made available. Thank you for your understanding as we monitor this enormous opportunity to help even more utilities and local governments make a difference in their local communities.”
Once SCIIP awards are made, the Rural Infrastructure Authority plans to put each grantee in a position to successfully implement their project in accordance with all federal requirements.
Mark May 2 on your calendars as RIA has tentatively set aside this day for a SCIIP Implementation Workshop at the Columbia Convention Center in Columbia. Registration will be available at www.ria.sc.gov as soon as awards have been made. All awardees will be required to have a representative attend.
