Risk Management Award Applications Are Open

Applications are now open for the Risk Management Awards. These service awards recognize counties in the SC Counties Insurance Trusts who have made significant achievements in their risk management and safety programs from July 2022 through June 30, 2023.

Risk managers are encouraged to seek input from all departments when submitting award applications.

Awards will be given in the following categories:

  • Most Improved County Award for the county or member entity that has shown the most improvement in their risk management and safety program during the past policy year. The recipient of this award is determined by the annual Self-Audit form. Even if you do not submit any award applications, please complete and return the Self-Audit form to the South Carolina Association of Counties by Dec. 31, 2023, to meet the requirements of the Basic Risk Management Standards.
  • Outstanding Safety Achievement Awards for the counties or member entities that have made significant progress in a specific area of their risk management and safety programs. This award is intended to recognize specific projects or achievements in safety and risk management. You may submit more than one application for projects you consider to be outstanding safety achievements. Only one award may be presented to a member.
  • Service Award for employees who have made significant efforts to help other members and/or their local communities improve their risk management programs.
  • Sustained Excellence in Risk Management Awards for members who meet or exceed all the Basic Risk Management Standards consistently. Recipients of this award are determined by the staff’s collective recommendations and a review of their Self-Audit form, which doubles as the Most Improved County Award application.

Applications that are incomplete or not submitted on the approved forms will not be considered. Include and attach any information that illustrates the accomplishments of your safety and risk management program during the past policy year.
