Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) and Its Impact on FMLA for All Local Governments and Departments

Last week SCAC sent out a summary of the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA), H.R. 6201. At that time, it was SCAC’s understanding that the provisions updating the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) only applied to local governments with between 50 and 500 employees. We have since learned that these provisions apply to ALL LOCAL GOVERNMENTS AND DEPARTMENTS. The provisions will go into effect Wednesday, April 1, 2020.
