2024 SCAC Annual Conference

The Annual Conference room block at Wild Dunes Resort is now open to board members only. Tim wants to ensure that all board members reserve the accommodations you prefer before we open the room block to all county officials. Click the links for accommodations information as well as the Annual Conference agenda. As you read through, please feel free to reach out to either Tish Anderson or, Rachel Garofolo, our Wild Dunes Resort contact, regarding any questions.
The room block will be open to all other county officials in March. In addition, we will open registration for the Institute of Government and the Annual Conference to county officials, including the board of directors, in March.
How to Book Accommodations (Board Members Only)
In order to book your room, you must email Rachel, Group Rooms Coordinator at Wild Dunes Resort, at rachel.garofalo@destinationhotels.com. We ask that you make your reservation no later than Friday, February 2. Rachel is aware that all board members receive a complimentary room upgrade (resort view to ocean view). She has been provided with a list of board members and clerks to council in case they book your room. The clerks will only be able to book a board member’s room. Room reservations cannot be made for non-board members. Please include in the email the following information:
- First/Last Name
- Arrival/Departure Date (note the changes to the schedule below)
- Phone Number
- Email Address (the confirmation email will be sent to this email)
- Room Type (King/QQ/Suite, etc.)
- Location – Boardwalk Inn, Sweetgrass Inn or Residences at Sweetgrass
- If Credit Card Authorization is Needed (If you plan to use a credit card at check-in that is not issued in your name, you must complete the online credit card authorization form.)
- Additional Notes/Questions
Once the email is received, Rachel will respond within 2 business days with the credit card authorization link to complete for the one night’s deposit. She can also set up a time to talk over the phone to answer any questions.
Note the conference schedule outlined below and provide Rachel with your arrival and departure dates. If you wish to come early or stay late outside of the conference dates, please note that the discounted rate can only be honored based on availability. It is easier to cancel than to add a night later, so I would suggest to go ahead and book if you think you may want to stay an extra night or two.

Tuesday, July 30 – Institute Classes, Committee Meetings, Group Meetings, Caucus Meetings, Welcome Reception, Board of Directors Dinner
Wednesday, July 31 – Legislative Power Hour & Breakfast, General Session, Workshops, Closing Reception
Thursday, August 1 – Board of Directors Breakfast Meeting
