The South Carolina Association of Counties and the National Association of Counties (NACo) are proud to announce the new graduating class of NACo’s High Performance Leadership Academy—a 12-week online program that empowers county government officials and employees with fundamental leadership skills. The following 17 South Carolina county officials recently completed the program. More than 800 county officials nationwide have completed the program.

The House continued to move bills along on their calendar this week, while the Senate spent most of the week debating what to do with Santee Cooper (see below). The Senate will begin debate on the budget on Tuesday of next week. We will discuss the budget as passed by the Senate Finance Committee as well as other bills of interest below.
