State Infrastructure Bank Announces Rural Project Program

The SC Transportation Infrastructure Bank announced a new Rural Project Program designed to allocate $250 million in financial assistance for eligible projects over 10 years. 

The first application period is March 18 to May 17. 

A rural project is:

  • located in a county with a population of 115,000 or less; or
  • in a county with a population between 115,000 to 200,000 if at least 75 percent of the project is outside a Metropolitan Planning Organization Study Area.

A project is not eligible if:

  • it is located in a county with an active Infrastructure Bank-assisted project.

There will be a workshop to discuss the Rural Project application process from 9:30 a.m. to noon March 1 at 955 Park St., Fifth Floor Auditorium, Columbia.

Please submit the number of people planning to attend from you organization by close of business Feb. 27 to hoganal@scdot.org
